Moon, Planets and Comets

Venus

In 2004 I put my Canon 300D on the prime focus of my Meade ETX 90 to make a photo of Venus. The result is not that great, but still I would like share it with you.

Comet Hale Bopp

Comet Hale Bopp early 1997 from Oman. You can clearly see the double tail. (Leica RE with 135mm)

In 1996 I had also a good view of comet Hyakutake due to my latitude of 23 North. Unfortunately I did not take pictures.

The first comet I even saw was comet West in 1976. It was very impressive.

In 2005 I watched comet Macholz, form Assen (Netherlands) both with a small 10x25 binoculars and naked eye.

On 24 October 2006 I used my 7x42 binoculars to observe comet Swan (C/2006 M4) just after it brightened to magnitude 4.5. A few days later (29 Oct) the comet could be viewed together with M13.

During November 2007 I observed comet Holmes several times with my Trinovid 7x42. The comet was also visible with the naked eye.

On 2 March 2009 I observed comet C/2007 N3 Lulin in the constellation Leo. I used my 7x42 binoculars. It was a very weak spot.

On 27 March 2013 I have seen comet Pan STARRS. Using my 7x42 binoculars, I clearly could see the comet's tail.
